This article describes how to configure a backup for your DDBook data
The DDBook database can be backed up in 2 different locations as per the image below. To trigger a database backup, press the Backup Database toolbar button on the Tools tab

Backup Filename |
Specify the full path and filename of the backup file. By default, DDBook will set this to: C:\DDBook\Backup\msddr.sdf |
Place a 2nd copy here |
Select this option to make a 2nd copy of the database. It is recommended to select this option and specify a different file from the one specified under Backup Filename and that it be on a 2nd computer on your network (e.g. using a file share). This ensures that the backup exists on at least 2 computers at any one time. Alternatively you could also copy the 2nd backup to a USB memory stick or removable hard-drive. If you enable this option, make sure to specify the full path and filename of the 2nd backup file, examples include:

Press OK to start the backup process If successful, you will receive the following message. If you receive any errors while performing a backup, please contact Modeus Support. |

Press Cancel to close the dialog box |
If you have enabled the Auto Backup option, it is essential to restart DDBook at least once a day for the auto backup to trigger upon first launch on a given day.
